The Norns looked on towards Asguard. They had given the small gods milleniums to better themselves, but they seem to have lost their way even with guidance thrown in their path. The presumed gods kept belittling and degrading the other races instead of helping them get to their full potential. In their hubris, the Asguardians have even fallen behind in some aspects of life, and have become stagant in their old ways
While the little frost giant might think the Norns had forsaken him, it was not completely the truth. The Norns could not always intervene, they had to let some of the story unfold without their input. He had already been put in the path of the Asguardian King, with the hope of changing an old mentality and bring new prosperity to his race. Instead, the so called king made too many mistakes, and almost irreversible damage to the giant.
When once again he spit in the wisdom of the Norns and sent Loki to Midguard without his powers to be enslaved, the Norns had had enough. Thankfully, the heroes of Midguard were noble, and treated their chosen with as much respect as the situation would allow. The Norns decided to treat Odin with one of his own tricks: they sent all of Asguardians on Midguard, stripped of their might and power, until they learned again humility and wisdom. It thus reversed Odin's last sanction, returning to the frost giant his powers.
While Midguardians might be considered the weakest of the races, it was their dedication the become the best of themselves despite those weaknesses that gave them their strength and value. Hopefully, the Asguardians will learn from them
Satisfied, the Norns returned to their watch, letting once again the story unfold from the free will of the races of the nine realms.

I gotcha friend. So, Tony and Loki have been dating for a while and things are going well. But after a while, Loki starts spending the night. They enjoy each other just like always, but in the mornings when he wakes up Tony's never there.
He always wakes up alone.
Loki worries, did he read the situation wrong? Does Tony not like him hanging around?
But Loki isn't one to sit around moping, he does what any self respecting resident of the tower does when there's a mystery.
He asks Jarvis."
And Jarvis tells him that Sir is in the shop. Always in the shop in the mornings.
Now, this Loki could have guessed. It's always where Tony goes when he has an idea.
So he asks Jarvis, "Well, how is he? Is he well?"
And Jarvis says, "Oh, yes, sir is 57% more productive after spending evenings with you, Prince Loki."
Armed with information, Loki goes to the lab. "Tony, I have a problem. And I do not want to alarm you, but it is really very important to me-"
"Hang on, hang on, just a sec. I'm just-"
Tony is half submerged in the open hood of one of his old cars.
"Tony," Loki sighs, becoming rather annoyed. "I'm trying to speak to you. Will you not give me the time of day?"
And right away Tony jerks up, grease smudged on his face and his eyes glimmering with inspiration.
"Shit, are you alright? Is everything okay?"
Loki's perplexed, does Tony want him around or not? Why does he send these mixed signals?
But then, he runs a hand through Loki's hair and chuckles. He teleported down so urgently he didn't even brush his hair or put on real clothes.
"I always get my best ideas after a good night's sleep." he confesses. "When I get up, I can't help myself. I just wander down here before I'm even awake. You've got a talent, you know? For inspiring brilliance." Tony laughs.
But why always when Loki's here? Just once it would be nice to see Tony curled up in bed and share a lazy morning. Perhaps even breakfast. Loki is an excellent cook, not that he's ever had a chance to show it off with Tony disappearing.
And then he recalls what Jarvis said. "Sir is 57% more productive on nights when you are here." Oh. Oh how silly.
Tony only sleeps when Loki is here.
Loki's heart swells up, he can't seem to make it stop. He is the monster under Asgardian beds, the man who threatened Earth for a cosmic bargain. He is no one's safety blanket, surely not.
But Tony is a man of science, and so Loki must understand him as a scientist would, with data. And the data all points to one simply conclusion. Tony feels safe with Loki, not only safe enough to sleep through the night and wake full of energy, but enough so that he sleeps better with Loki snuggled along his back.
No one has ever felt so in Loki's presence. Even his own brother regarded him with wariness, always waiting for Loki to spring some trap or reveal a practical joke.
But here, here he is family. Here he is a wanted protector against nightmares real and illusory. And in time, he finds he does not sleep well without Tony either.
And when Tony notices his sour mood, he starts sleeping with a tablet on his side table. He starts working from under the covers, because Loki being happy is more important than even the most intriguing of ideas. They will go down together once Loki is awake and the designs can complete themselves, once their bellies are full of Loki's food and their skin is flushed and clean from a shared shower. Together they can venture down and spend their hours finishing one another's sentences and chasing the fantastic dreams wherever they go. Together.

Loki isn't there, he was on asgard doing something but he hears Tony's scream; they've got some sort of bond
and he's just like "sorry thor i have to leave right now immediately" and teleports to Tony's side and sees the state Tony is in
he teleports into the doorway and then he RUNS to tony's side and sits on the bed next to him, and Tony turns and looks and then throws himself at Loki and just starts sobbing

Loki gave Tony a spell or charm or something that gave him the ability to accept or deny Loki's magic
So if Loki tries to use a spell on Tony, Tony will sense exactly what Loki wants to use his magic to do and either consent or not
and the spell won't work, it literally will not do anything unless Tony allows it
So tony senses the magic and understands the purpose is to help steady his functions so he doesn't get hurt and he accepts.
and as the magic steadies his heart rate and breathing, the rest of his body starts to relax without magical help and he kinda rests against loki
Loki's been rocking him gently for the last few minutes and so then Tony rests his head on Loki's shoulder and Loki kisses his forehead
he asks tony if he's feeling better and tony kinda shrugs, he's calmer but still miserable
He asks Loki if he was busy and Loki shrugs like "kinda but you're far more important and always will be," cue kisses

Loki's brow gives a subtle twitch in surprise.
"I was the one who saved you, was I not? You would have died at the hands of (name here, or Grandmaster?) had I not saved you (or had i not convinced him otherwise).
"The god gives a blink and tilts his head, fingers giving a single drum against the arm rest.
"The least you can do is show a little gratitude to your savior."
Tony scoffed. "Yeah, not going to happen, ReindeerGames."
Loki stares at Tony, the corner of his eye twitching in frustration. Eventually he draws in a breath, his attention roaming across the room. Leaning forward he lets it out, brow furrowing.
"Listen and listen well, Stark." Loki hisses, his hand coming to grab Tony's hair, pulling his head up so he could whisper. "Either you put on a show in front of the Grandmaster and his peers, or you get us both killed. You may have been a big shot on Midgard, but this is Sakaar, and here? You either do as your told or you die. Have I made myself clear?"
Tony grits his teeth, one eye watering from the harsh grip on his hair. "Crystal."
Crystal. Hah. Loki actually chuffed at that.
"Good. I'm glad you understand." He said as he smooths a hand through those messy brown locks. Something in his expression changed, then. His voice still low. "Because I want to get off of this Hel-hole of a planet just as much as you do."
Tony jerked his head back when the hand in his hair loosened, mouth opening and closing in disbelief of what he just heard. A cool finger met his lips and Tony fell silent automatically.
"I will not repeat myself. But if you want to survive here, you're going to need to do exactly what I tell you to."

Do you trust me? A shudder rolled through Loki's form, the shiver working its way clear to his toes. Was it the cold water that made him shiver or the arousal pooling in his gut? Loki didn't know. But what he did know, was that he trusted Tony with his life.
"Yes." Loki breathed out with a turn of his head, pale eyes meeting those of glowing amber. Lifting a hand he brushed it across the Cecaelia's cheek. "Always."
Tony let out a pleased rumble, human arms wrapping themselves around Loki's form as his tentacles went to work. Each leg was taken hold of and spread wide, another wrapping itself around Loki's cock, ushering forth a breathy gasp.
That gasp turned into a moan when something firm nudged against Loki's ass, a grunt sounding from behind him before a kiss was placed onto his shoulder.
"It's okay, Just relax for me. I've got you." Tony rubbed his palms against Loki's stomach until one of them wandered up to Loki's chest.
Soothing whispers met Loki's ear, his eyes drifting closed as he allowed himself to relax. The tentacle between his thighs returned to nudging at his ass, the thinner tip eventually popping inside. Both Tony and Loki moaned at the sensation, several more inches easing inside before Tony stopped.
"You're doing so well, Loki." He praised, kissing at his Prince's shoulder. "Just relax, focus on me. Let me show you one of the wonders the ocean has to offer~"

Tony hears a myth about a well that will grant any wish. he didn't believe in magic but after everything that happened he would try anything. He missed the long walks under the stars and he missed waking up with the sun in his lovers arms. He missed Loki.
So he spent months searching and hunting and trying to find anything that would make the pain lessen.
And then he finds the well.
He falls to his knees in relief there and then.
He just wants Loki back and he makes the wish dropping his coins into the well and watching it sink into the dark depths.
And then there's Loki muttering how he had missed him. Arms around each other. And Tony cries for the first time in months.
He's happy. He gets the walk wherever he wants hand-in-hand. He can wake up and fall asleep with his lover. He can continue to prod and poke Loki until he shows him some new knowledge. Teasing him magic wasn't real. (Even though at this point he knew it was).
It's only one night after what seemed timeless, the Loki cradled him in his arms and the cries.
"Why did you do it?"
"What?" Loki doesn't say anything just holding him closer.
"I never wanted anything but you. and what I wanted more than you was for you to be happy."
Tony frowns confused.
"I never wanted you to follow me here"
Distantly, Tony was aware that the fields of green and the night skies and the sun and the birds and the trees, were fading away.
Oh.
That was right.
He forgot the well had a cost
