Tony Becomes a Gay Icon, Loki is His Lawyer

Basically Tony repeatedly drives by an anti-gay rights rally shouting "I love sucking [expletive for male genitalia]" He becomes a meme, gets in legal trouble, Loki is his lawyer.

And Rhodey seeing how much Tony and Loki are getting along during this whole debacle and it's just like, "For the love of God, just wait until the trial is over before you jump into bed together. No, I don't care how much your fans will like it, Tony."

It becomes a thing where Rhodey is just constantly running interference, keeping these two idiots from tackling each other in public until things calm down. One day he nearly has an aneurysm when they walk into court and there's glitter on Loki in a very hard to explain area.

Did someone see them coming out of the closet ?
Pepper. She had an aneurysm as well, and quickly herded away the gaggle of lawyers that was coming around the corner
She, Rhodey and Happy form a tag team of keeping Tony and Loki ostensibly apart, and still barely manage, because of course they would see this as a challenge. (Doesn't help that half the time Happy is pushing them together in the process, somehow.)

"It just started with Loki in his suits," Tony says as he tries to explain to Pepper how they got into this PR disaster of Loki very much not in his suits...

Loki would just be so good at law. He gets everyone's eyes on him, he gets to twist facts and manipulate people into believing his version of the truth. And when the defendants are acquitted they actually thank him for being himself and not judging them for the stuff they may have done. Kckfdy

See, now I imagine Loki getting this following of people he's acquitted, who no one thought had any sort of chance. People who are just so loyal to him no matter what, and it just confuses the hell out of everyone on Asgard.

Great British Bake Off AU

Prompt:

The Avengers are all competing on the Great British Baking Show. This one had a lot of discussion so I'll just summarize. Pepper forced tony to come: it was a dare and a challenge. Since she won the last season.

Judges: Mary and Paul from the show

Guests (winners of past seasons): Pepper and Peter

Loki is a kindergarten teacher who shows up looking very soft and unintimidating. Tony writes him off until the first challenge when the competitive beast awakens and Loki's true colors show. I think maybe everyone starts out very friendly until Loki gets super competitive in the first challenge and Tony sort of casually rises to it. Tony wins the showstopper and so Loki becomes high key put out and returns next week with a fire under his ass. They start bantering and slowly the casual rival turns into an actual rivalry as baking intensifies The weeks go on and as the competition follows the standard trajectory of getting more intense they both go a little nuts trying to beat each other and the other contests are like *sweat*.

Loki sticks to his comfort zone on flavors but is stupid good at decorating. He is obsessed with "potions" and chemistry in baking. One of his cakes looks like the Book of Kells complete with a chocolate celtic knot collar. And inside animal themed stuff? A pouncing Fenrir; entwined huginn an muninn


Tony is a mechanic who makes deconstructed modern stuff, all of tony's tall cakes stand up bc he did Engineering™ tall or 3d. Everyone is scared of his bakes when its a tiered bake. His bakes also look good in a-- rustic way? And the flavors can be,, weird. They are sometimes sci-fi or steampunk inspired.

One looks like a steam punk car complete with a modelling chocolate motor inside. If it wasn't edible you could drive it. The judges are just like ".....how did you do this in the time alotted. Tony is the one obsessed w the "practical effects" of baking, how to make the oven do what he wants. And he's always Exhausted(tm) when he shows up because he's been practicing his timing after work all week. Not sleeping, totally obsessive.

Thor keeps making weird swedish fusions

bruce is the unassuming one who keeps quiet and never really makes splashes, but also never fails and is just constantly There, even up to the semifinals

Fury is a cupcake master as a contestant. Alternatively, he would be great as someone's hyper supportive relative. (Tony's godfather????)

Coulson is the salary man with a heart of gold. Trying something creative for the first time in his boring life and being terrible but with such a great attitude that everyone loves him

Valkyrie adds alcohol to all her bakes lasjkdf
sometimes to the point of over powering every other flavor. Mary always likes them anyway.

Loki and Tony resolve their rivalry when they are put together on a team challenge. Flirting and banter ensue. They make something animal/mécha steampunk with traditional patterns

Immortality/Break-Up, Pining!Loki

Tony always slumps against Loki, says it's a bad idea and Loki should just leave him. Loki shushes him and takes him home and cleans him up, feeds him, looks after him, makes love to him but Tony is always gone the next morning.
Loki lets it happen. It hurts, of course, that he's not enough, but he stays there waiting for Tony, constantly loving him and being with him whenever he can.
Waiting, hoping for that moment where Tony might say, "I'm ready to come home now."

Healing Tony's Reactor, Weaving Magic and Symbolism

So the arc reactor set in Tony's chest hurts. It's a constant tug and pull on his rib cage. Whenever he moves, there's this big lump of metal which does not flex grinding up against all of the soft and not-so-soft tissues in there. It's not something he ever brings up, in fact he goes out of his way to hide it. It's Tony, after all.
One day Loki notices that Tony is... fidgeting around the reactor. Rubbing at it, playing with his shirt right over the top of it, whatever. When he asks what's wrong, Tony tries to blow it off, say that it's nothing. Eventually he gets it out of Tony what's going on, and had been going on for years.

In this setup, they're either just beginning a relationship or are at that 'cohorts/friends' stage? Somewhere in there. But Loki decides to help, using his magic to do so.

The problem/challenge here is that the arc reactor is a great big well of symbolism and meaning, and adding magic to all of that is likely to have side effects (handwave, magic hocus-pocus, making stuff up as we go). The arc reactor is basically armor around Tony's broken heart, holding it together using scraps of his past to make way for his future. With all of that in there, Loki has to come up with some way of weaving magic around Tony's heart in a meaningful way which will heal him.

Cue lots of symbolism/magic with Loki binding his heart to Tony's and they both strengthen and bolster the other (because Loki's heart is also far from perfect) and they live happily ever after. :3
(Like I said, only a partial idea, lol)

i actually thought more on that stupid idea.... Tony found the channel (cause like dude Loki is doing nothing to change his voice and if you got an AI with voice recognition....) and thinks it's absolutely hilarious so he secretly helps it stay off SHIELDs radar and is a frequent commenter. No one believes he's the real Tony Stark btw. At some point Loki and Tony's sim marry and even later they do the try for baby and loki.... just quits like noping it out of there "SIM LOKI WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING" and then real Loki and Tony go on a date and I dunno. It's funny

Loki could be tactical tho. But yeah definitely bridge crew. He wouldn't be anybody's underling for long.
For Tony, maybe he wanted to be command but at the Academy he was constantly told he didn't have the right personality for command. It was frustration because they weren't even consistent in their reasons. The teachers who didn't know him said he was too harsh, he barked orders and didn't listen to the advice of his crew. The teachers that did know him said he was too soft, and the pressure of all those lives in his hands would drive him to drink someday.
And he excelled beyond all normal measures at engineering courses, so of course the science and engineering schools were constantly trying to recruit him.
Whether he goes to engineering or command, I think is a toss up. But maybe either way he has lingering doubts that he's a good commander/that he shouldn't have given up on his dream of being captain of a vessel.

Dragon!Loki Needs Gold to Hatch His Eggs, Tony Provides

Ok so one idea. Oh god I have to put it into words. Basically, Tony gives Loki gold. I'm thinking maybe Loki gets into shit with a kingdom (Odin's) and you get the usually knights go to attack, (Bonus Loki curses Thor as punishment), but Loki won't leave. The famous blacksmith hears this tale and decides to investigate. (The dragon has given him good business). He ends up making his way to the lair and gives Loki some gold, in exchange for knowledge. Loki agrees, surprised, happy and suspicion of this deal, but is honourable enough to agree. This is when Tony find out about the REAL reason why gold is so important to them. He leaves and Loki thinks nothing of it.

Until the next load of knights dont make it to the lair, as of traps, and Tony turns up the day after carrying a bag of gold. For knowledge he says, then asking about mundane things.
It continues like this for a while. Sometime Tony will ask for knowledge of importance, sometimes its ridicules stuff. But he always comes back. And sometimes the knights get through, once Tony spends more time in the lair than usual just to make sure his dragon friend is alright from the battle wounds (shhh loki doesn't know his calls him his friend)
And then Loki has an egg. At first he won't let Tony in. But Tony clues on quickly on what's happening.
The gold becomes gifts, gems, jewellery, weapons, metal, any thing Tony have get his hands on. After a pile turns up, Loki finally lets him into the lair again

I'm just imagining Loki curled up in a pile, Tony covering him in more gold
A knight turns up at one point. Tony is the one to scared him and chase them away. No one else tries to attack the dragon after that

And the nice thing is Loki is able to use magic to alleviate a lot of the symptoms so tony doesn’t have to take a bunch of medicine
Like he can bring Tony’s temperature down and ease pain
and it’s a lot faster and more effective than medicine (and also wouldn’t risk interfering with his severely damaged liver or the arc reactor)
And since Loki can’t get sick he can cuddle with tony (which is how he convinces tony to move to the bedroom and watch mythbusters there)

So Loki, fucking brilliant amazing mage he is, creates a clone and has it make tony soup (hey if tony can pilot an iron man suit remotely Loki can pilot a clone)
And tony has no idea he’s doing this so a few episodes in all of a sudden a SECOND LOKI walks in and tony is like am I hallucinating and Loki is like no darling you’re not it’s just a clone look he made you soup

And ofc Loki sits Tony up really carefully to have his soup and makes sure he drinks water and tells him he’s doing so well
And instead of taking the bowl back to the kitchen Loki just vanishes it
And tony looks up at him like he hangs the stars he’s so completely in love with Loki and Loki just gives him soft kisses

she brings a redheaded kid back with her, and bullies howard into keeping her, until they can find a suitable family for her. They were able to find most of the other girls parents, but not Natalia’s, and in the meantime, the stark household is possibly the safest place for her.

i mean, i'm not always fond of natasha, but this would be a cool concept

grown up hiding their bonds to not be driven against each other? but once out act basically like twins
loki looked like a girl when he was very little, but was always actually both
the three of them thick as thieves, tricksters the lot of them
(tony gets an awfully scary knowledge of spy stuff,
after he gets beaten up for being a boy genius, N&L teach him how to hold his own...
tony doesn't get bullied anymore)
(and if weird tragic accidents happened to the former bullies, who has to know?)

anyway, nat grows up really really ace
(especially since whatevs they saw in the RR)
but loki as teen starts crushing on tony...hard
and that seriously weights on him and he gets awkward
tony's... hurt, confused? Why my friend wants hugs no more?
Nat straightens him out real quick
doesn't even last a week
she tells him it won't harm their friendship bcause she wom't let it,
and if tony acts like an ass, she'll kick his ass until he straightens his behavior
loki is weirdly reasured that whatever happens, nat will always have his back
she's not bothered by him actually wanting a relashionship
or being curious about sex (she hellps him look)
and nat is his constant, his anchor
and tony... well, he'd understand if tony is not as mature as them, not looking for romance at that age (teen geniuses don't have the same emotionnal developpement rate)
so he tells tony (apologizing for acting weird)
and tony's like... "but can we still cuddle? will you still dance with me? you won't stop playing pranks, will you?"

also he gets this real thoughtful look on his face, and is like
wait, romance is the together forever living in the same house kind of stuf?

nah nat will stay with them as they live together
bcause those two idiots need someone reasonable to watch over them
and keep them on the right path
(also hide the bodies)

she might get a couple allies in geniuses wrangling with rhodes and pep, but they won't be part of the household
(also i headcanon the two RR survivors as cooing over how cute and oblivious tony is and wanting to preserve his innocence at all costs)
(then they find out tony regularly gets kidnapped, then rescues himself)
(they are horrified)
(and also a little bit impressed with their favorite bb genius, who's still a little bit bamf on his own)
(actually that's a lie, he's very very bamf, and gets even better with their influence
just as they get even more tech savvy with him around to show them the ropes)

Canon Divergence: Villains!AU

So I found this idea languishing in my Google docs and I’m not gonna do anything with it so I thought I’d share it here. This basically came up when my longfic hit the Ultron arc. After the rogue Iron Legion bots steal the Mind Scepter, Thor accuses Tony of faking a security breach so that his bots could deliver the scepter to Loki without breaking his reporte with the Avengers. Basically, Thor doesn’t believe that Ultron is real and he thinks Loki is still plotting to take over Earth.

No, this isn’t what’s happening in the fic, but I kept thinking what a great start that would be to a Villain!Tony story. Perhap Tony got some time to talk with Loki in between the Battle of New York and sending him to Asgard. Maybe Loki made some points that Tony came to agree with. Maybe the team thinks Tony is being paranoid but Loki confirms his fears. Maybe when Loki comes back to Earth once he’s free in Thor: The Dark World, he and Tony team up because Tony knows the Avengers don’t believe him. He knows they won’t be willing to do what’s necessary to win, and he’s willing to work with a villain if it will keep Earth safe.

So he rallies the team to “take down Hydra” but really he’s plotting to steal the scepter the whole time, and Ultron is just his way of delivering the scepter. Loki’s goal could be noble (strengthen Earth to impede Thanos) or it could be comic book evil (I want to rule a realm I don’t care which one) and his relationship with Tony could go any number of ways. (Although I’m fond of the do-gooder villains who have been hurt to many times to trust anyone but each other.) Anyway, I just ran across this idea and I thought, huh that’s an ok prompt.
